Updating Your Server

Upgrade safely without losing data.

1. Backup First!

Always create a backup before updating:

  1. Go to the Backups tab.
  2. Click Create Backup.
  3. Wait for the ZIP file confirmation.

2. Switching Versions

  1. Go to Settings > Server Version.
  2. Select the new version (e.g., 1.20.1 to 1.20.4).
  3. Click Install/Update.

Your world and configs usually remain, but some plugins/mods may break if they don't support the new version.

3. Automatic Migration

The app handles migration to the new Java system automatically:

  1. Verifies the current server version.
  2. Checks for the appropriate Java runtime.
  3. Downloads and links the correct version if missing.

4. Mods & Plugins

You'll likely need to update mods manually. Use the Search & Install feature (v2.0.0+) to find matching versions quickly.
