Playing with friends

Your friends can join from anywhere. No router setup, no port forwarding.

1. Share the address

When your server is running, the Dashboard shows a big card: Share this address with your friends.

  1. Click Copy and send the address to your friends.
  2. In Minecraft they go to Multiplayer → Add Server and paste it.
  3. They need Minecraft Java Edition, the same version as your server (the card tells you which).

2. Get a permanent address (free)

By default Cubi uses a quick tunnel that lasts 60 minutes and changes each time. For an address that never changes, link a free playit.gg account:

  1. On the Dashboard, click Get a permanent address.
  2. Sign in to playit.gg in the window that opens and approve the link.
  3. Done. Your address stays the same every time you start the server.
Free playit.gg accounts have a limit of linked devices (agents). If Cubi says the account is over its limit, remove old agents at playit.gg/account/agents and try again. Meanwhile Cubi falls back to the quick tunnel.

3. Same house? Use your local IP

Friends on your Wi-Fi can also join with your local IP (for example 192.168.1.20), shown in the server details. It's the fastest option when you're together.

Mods? Your friends need the same mods and loader as your server. Phone or console? Install GeyserMC and Bedrock players can join too.
