Updating Your Server

Upgrade safely to the latest Minecraft version.

0. The Java Management Revolution (v2.0.0+)

One of the biggest hurdles in Minecraft hosting is Java version compatibility. Version 2.0.0 introduces a revolutionary Automatic Java Management system.

1. Backup First!

Before doing anything, ALWAYS create a backup.

  1. Go to the Backups tab in your server dashboard.
  2. Click Create Backup.
  3. Wait for the confirmation that the ZIP file has been created.

2. Switching Versions

The application allows you to change the server jar easily.

  1. Go to Settings > Server Version.
  2. Select the new version you want (e.g., from 1.20.1 to 1.20.4).
  3. Click Install/Update.

The app will replace the server jar file. Your world and config files will usually remain, but some plugins/mods might break if they don't support the new version.

3. Automatic Migration

If you have an existing server, the app now handles the migration to the new Java management system seamlessly. When you add or start an old server, the app will:

  1. Verify the current server version.
  2. Check if it has the appropriate Java runtime.
  3. Download and link the correct version if missing.

4. Mods & Plugins

If you have mods installed, you will likely need to update them manually. Delete the old mods from the Mods tab and install the new versions that match your new server version. Version 2.0.0 includes a Search & Install feature for mods, making this process much faster.
